The workshop was called to explore options for improving water governance in the Kimberley. The workshop initiated discussions on the potential of the water stewardship system and stronger participatory processes to contribute to developing agreed ways forward for managing water in Northern Australia.

The study set out to explore the connection between water and energy productivity in irrigated agriculture and to sample the views of stakeholders as to the challenges and priorities for action.

This report documents a foresighting workshop held in Launceston, Tasmania in April 2014. It was one important step in a process of stakeholder consultation exploring research, development and extension (RD&E) priorities for irrigated agriculture in Tasmania.
